Children and Adult Family Therapy NW Calgary

Welcome To Denise Davies Counselling and Consulting – Crowfoot Calgary

Working with children and families for over 26 years, it has been my life’s work to help others find peace, healing, and joy in their lives. I have specialized training working with children and their families on issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and complex mental health.

I have extensive experience using the modalities of play and sand therapy with children, which provides a path for processing emotions and healing. As a therapist working with children ages 3-18, I understand the impact and importance of working with a child’s family and other supports in a collaborative manner.

My experience in the helping profession has also provided me with the privilege of working with adults of all ages, couples, and families. I have extensive experience in supporting parenting struggles and challenges in all types of families and contexts. I believe that repair in relationships is possible with commitment, patience, and perseverance.

I’m committed to support and guide clients if they wish to repair or end a relationship as these can be challenging decisions and processes. I believe strongly in working with families together with their children, to work on issues of communication and enhancing positivity in the home.

I hold a Master in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University (2013) and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary (1999), creating a unique approach to counselling. I have been a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers since 2004.

I have been trained in a variety of modalities including Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

I have a special interest in how the brain and nervous system operates and impacts mental health and wellness. Inherently, I believe in the resiliency and self-healing within all individuals and it is my goal to create a safe environment to foster that growth.
